We commonly build motorized retractable awnings from about 8 ft up to 24 ft wide, with projections from 8 ft to 13 ft. Anything wider than ~24 ft is typically built as two awnings side by side so you keep the slim, single-cassette look without overstressing the arms.

Lateral-arm retractable awnings are not designed to ride out high wind — by design, you retract them. We strongly recommend our optional wind/sun sensor that automatically retracts the awning when gusts hit the threshold you set, even when you're not home. For year-round, no-touch shade in windy locations we'll steer you toward a fixed welded aluminum patio canopy instead.

We sew our retractable awning canvases from premium Sunbrella® acrylic — the same marine-grade, UV-stable, mildew-resistant fabric we use on our welded storefront awnings. You pick from solids, stripes and tweeds; we'll bring swatches to your free on-site measurement.

Yes. We use Somfy-style 110V motors with a handheld RTS remote standard, and we can add a smart-home hub so you can extend or retract the awning from your phone, Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home, and put it on a daily schedule.

Every awning ships standard with a quiet 110V Somfy-style tubular motor and a handheld 5-channel RTS remote. Optional upgrades include a hardwired wall switch, a wind/sun automation sensor that retracts the awning automatically, and a smart-home hub that lets you operate the awning from your phone, Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home — and put it on a daily schedule. We can also build a manual hand-crank version on smaller widths if you prefer no electrical work.

Four things: (1) width and projection — bigger awnings need heavier arms and more canvas; (2) Sunbrella® fabric choice — solids are the most affordable, premium tweeds and woven stripes cost more; (3) motor and automation — a basic remote setup is included, while wind/sun sensors and smart-home control add a small upgrade; (4) mounting and electrical — wall mounts on stucco or wood are straightforward, while soffit/fascia brackets, brick, or running new 110V power adds labor. Most residential motorized retractables in Texas land in the mid-four-figure range installed; we send a written quote with line-item options so you can pick what matters to you.

Welded aluminum cassette and lateral-arm frames carry a 10-year structural warranty. Sunbrella® canvas carries the manufacturer's 10-year limited warranty against fading, mildew and UV breakdown. Somfy-style motors carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty. Our installation workmanship is warranted for 1 year.
